Produktbeskrivelse

Valve bag for 250 g coffee with one-way valve and reseal

Valve bag in kraft paper for packaging and storage of approximately 250 g of roasted coffee beans.

The bag features both a one-way valve and a resealable closure, making it particularly suitable for freshly roasted coffee. After roasting, coffee beans release carbon dioxide, and the one-way valve allows the gas to escape while the bag can remain closed.

250 g is a classic size for coffee and is practical for both home roasting, smaller portions, and for those who want to have several different coffees in use without opening a large quantity at once.

Why use a valve bag for freshly roasted coffee?

Roasted coffee beans continue to release carbon dioxide after roasting.

Therefore, packaging with a one-way valve is particularly practical for freshly roasted coffee. The valve allows the released gas to move out of the bag without the coffee needing to be kept in open packaging.

This makes valve bags suitable for storage, transport, and packing of freshly roasted coffee beans alike.

You can find all sizes collected under coffee valve bags.

250 grams – a practical size for coffee

250 g is a common portion size for coffee beans and works well when you do not need to pack large quantities at a time.

The size is practical for, among other things:

  • Small batches from the home roaster
  • Dividing larger amounts of coffee
  • Smaller portions for family and friends
  • Coffee intended as a gift
  • Those who want to have several different coffees open at the same time

A smaller bag also means you can open one portion at a time instead of repeatedly opening a larger amount of coffee.

The exact amount the bag can hold may vary slightly depending on the size and density of the coffee beans. The 250 g therefore describes the intended packaging size.

Resealable coffee bag for daily use

The bag has a resealable feature, so it can be opened and closed again.

You can therefore take the amount of coffee beans you need for brewing and close the bag afterwards.

This also means that the coffee does not necessarily need to be moved to another container after opening.

Store the bag:

  • Dry
  • Away from direct sunlight
  • Away from strong heat sources
  • At a stable temperature
  • Closed between brews

Valve bag for home roasting

If you roast your own coffee at home, the 250 g bag is particularly practical for smaller batches.

Once the roasted coffee beans have been cooled properly after roasting, they can be weighed and packed into the bag. The coffee beans can then continue their natural degassing through the one-way valve.

At the same time, the smaller size makes it easy to divide a larger roast into several portions.

This can be practical, for example, if you:

  • Test different roast profiles
  • Roast several different coffee beans
  • Want to compare coffees over time
  • Share your home-roasted coffee with others

If you want to work with coffee roasting yourself, you will find our raw and green coffee beans for home roasting.

Should freshly roasted coffee stand open to degas?

No.

Freshly roasted coffee beans do not need to stand in an open bag or container to be able to degas.

The one-way valve is specifically designed to allow gas from the coffee beans to escape while the bag remains closed.

This makes the valve bag suitable for storing coffee in the period after roasting.

Can the coffee stay in the valve bag after opening?

Yes.

A resealable valve bag can be used as the ongoing packaging for your coffee.

Therefore, there is no requirement that the coffee beans must be poured into a coffee canister once the bag has been opened.

The most important thing is that the bag is closed properly after use and stored sensibly.

A separate coffee container can be practical if you prefer a more robust container on the kitchen counter, but it is not necessary for everyone.

Valve bag or coffee canister?

Valve bags and coffee canisters can both be used for coffee, but they suit different needs.

Valve bag

A valve bag is particularly practical for:

  • Freshly roasted coffee that is still degassing
  • Packing after coffee roasting
  • Shipping and transport
  • Dividing coffee into portion sizes
  • Home roasting
  • Coffee to be given away

Coffee canister

A coffee canister can be practical if you want a fixed container for the coffee you use in everyday life.

Which solution is best therefore depends on how you use and store your coffee.

Which size valve bag should I choose?

Choose the size based on the amount of coffee you normally want to pack.

250 g is suitable for smaller portions and small batches.

500 g provides more space for regular private consumption and medium-sized batches.

1000 g is relevant for larger amounts of coffee, higher private consumption, and commercial use.

3000 g is intended for significantly larger quantities and is especially relevant for larger batches and professional use.

You will find all sizes under coffee bags with valve and reseal.

Can the valve bag be used for ground coffee?

Yes, the bag can also be used for ground coffee.

When coffee beans are ground, a much larger part of the coffee is exposed to the surroundings. Ground coffee therefore changes faster than whole coffee beans.

If you have the opportunity to grind the coffee yourself, we therefore generally recommend storing it as whole coffee beans and only grinding the amount needed for brewing.

Whole coffee beans or ground coffee?

Whole coffee beans provide the greatest flexibility.

When the coffee is ground immediately before brewing, you can simultaneously adjust the grind size to the specific brewing method.

Espresso, for example, normally requires a significantly finer grind than a French press, while filter coffee, V60, and AeroPress lie at various points in between depending on the recipe and equipment.

If you need to be able to adjust the grind size yourself, you can view our selection of coffee grinders.

Frequently asked questions

How much coffee can the bag hold?

The bag is intended for approximately 250 g of coffee. The exact amount may vary slightly depending on the size and density of the coffee beans.

Why is there a valve in a coffee bag?

Roasted coffee beans release carbon dioxide after roasting. The one-way valve allows the gas to escape while the bag can be kept closed.

Can the bag be closed again?

Yes. The bag has a resealable feature and can therefore be opened and closed again during ongoing use.

Is 250 g a good size for home roasting?

Yes. 250 g is a practical size for smaller batches and makes it easy to divide different roasts or coffee beans into separate portions.

Does the coffee need to be poured into a coffee canister?

No. If the valve bag is closed properly and stored correctly, the coffee beans can stay in the bag.

Can the bag be used for ground coffee?

Yes. The bag can also be used for ground coffee, but ground coffee changes faster than whole coffee beans after grinding.

Can the valve bag be used for raw coffee beans?

It can physically be used for storage, but the special function of the one-way valve is primarily relevant for roasted coffee beans, which release carbon dioxide after roasting.
