How much coffee does the Bialetti Rainbow 6 cups make?

Bialetti specifies a capacity of approximately 270 ml of brewed coffee for the Rainbow 6 cups.

The term 6 cups does not mean six regular coffee mugs. Bialetti's cup designation is based on small servings of moka pot coffee.

Moka pot coffee is also more concentrated than regular drip coffee.

Can Bialetti Rainbow be used on induction?

Not directly.

Bialetti Rainbow is made of aluminum and is not intended for direct use on induction stovetops.

If you have induction, you can use the Bialetti Induction Plate 13 cm.

The induction plate is developed to make non-induction compatible coffee makers usable on induction and fits Bialetti coffee makers up to 6 cups.

Place the adapter plate on the induction zone and the moka pot on top. Use medium heat rather than maximum power.

What grind size should be used for Rainbow?

A medium-fine grind size is a good starting point for a moka pot.

The coffee should be:

• finer than regular drip coffee

• coarser than traditional espresso

• gritty rather than powder-fine

Fill the filter basket evenly with coffee without pressing it down.

The coffee should not be tamped.

If the brewing process is very slow, or the coffee becomes bitter, you can try a slightly coarser grind.

If the result is thin, you can try a slightly finer one.

A good coffee grinder makes it easier to adjust the grind and repeat a good result.

How to brew coffee with Bialetti Rainbow

1. Fill the bottom container with water
Fill with water up to the level below the safety valve.

2. Insert the filter basket
Place the filter basket into the bottom container.

3. Add coffee
Fill the filter basket evenly with medium-fine ground coffee.

The coffee should not be tamped.

4. Screw the moka pot together
Screw the upper and lower parts securely together.

Do not use the handle as leverage when tightening or loosening the pot.

5. Place Rainbow on the stove
Use low to medium heat.

On gas, the flame must be kept under the bottom and must not go up along the sides.

If you have induction, place the Bialetti Induction Plate 13 cm between the induction zone and the moka pot.

6. Remove the pot from the heat
Once the coffee has risen to the top container, remove the moka pot from the heat.

Avoid letting the coffee sputter for too long.

Which coffee beans are suitable for Bialetti Rainbow?

Before first use

Maintenance

Let the moka pot cool down before opening it.
