Colombia Supremo – light roast
Produktbeskrivelse
Colombia Supremo – fresh and fruity light roast coffee
Colombia Supremo is a balanced Colombian coffee that we at Brændeholm Risteri roast in several different profiles.
In the light roast, we experience the coffee as fresher and fruitier, and the coffee's origin character is given more space than in the darker roasts.
The tasting notes are dark chocolate, tart fruit, and caramel. The combination provides both sweetness and fruitiness, while the light roast keeps the more intense roasting character in the background.
It is therefore a great choice for those who want a coffee with distinct nuances without a dark and heavy coffee profile.
If you would like to read more about the difference between roast levels, you can see our guide to light, medium, and dark roast profiles.

What does light roast Colombia Supremo taste like?
We find the light version particularly fresher and fruitier than our medium and dark roast versions.
With a lighter roast, the roasting process itself has less impact on the flavor profile. This makes it easier to experience the nuances we associate with green coffee.
In the cup, you therefore get a combination of:
- Fruity freshness
- Sweetness
- Dark chocolate
- Caramel
- A lighter coffee expression
- Clearer origin character
The tasting note "tart fruit" does not necessarily mean that the coffee tastes very sour. Acidity is a natural part of coffee and, in a balanced cup, can contribute freshness and vitality.
Why do we roast Colombia Supremo light?
We use the light roast profile when we want to give the raw coffee's own character as much space as possible.
Compared to our medium and dark roast Colombia Supremo, we find the light version to be the most fruity and fresh.
This makes it particularly interesting for brewing methods where a clean and nuanced cup is in focus.
Suitable for filter coffee
Light roast Colombia Supremo works very well as filter coffee.
Here, the fruity and sweet sides have a great opportunity to emerge, while the coffee retains its balance.
If you brew with a regular coffee machine, you can use our guide to better filter coffee as a starting point for dosing, grind size, and brewing.
Pour over and Hario V60
The light Colombia Supremo is also a good choice for pour over.
A paper-filtered brewing method like the Hario V60 can provide a clean cup, where it becomes easier to experience the coffee's different nuances.
You will find specific advice in our guide to better coffee with the Hario V60.
AeroPress
Colombia Supremo can also be brewed with an AeroPress.
Here, you can work with factors such as grind size, water temperature, and brewing time to influence how light, full-bodied, or concentrated the coffee feels.
See our guide to better coffee with an AeroPress.
French press
If you prefer a French press, the light roast Colombia Supremo can also be used here.
This brewing method typically provides more mouthfeel than paper-filtered coffee, while the light roast profile still leaves room for the coffee's fruity character.
You can find our approach in the guide to better French press coffee.
Light, medium, or dark Colombia Supremo?
We roast Colombia Supremo in three different roast levels.
Light roast
Choose the light roast if you are primarily looking for:
- More freshness
- More fruitiness
- A lighter coffee expression
- More focus on the coffee's origin character
Medium roast
The medium roast version is more balanced between the coffee's fruity character, sweetness, body, and roasting.
See Colombia Supremo – medium roast.
Dark roast
The dark roast version is more intense and full-bodied and works particularly well if you prefer a darker coffee expression or use the coffee for espresso and milk-based drinks.
See Colombia Supremo – dark roast.
Whole coffee beans or ground coffee?
Colombia Supremo is available in:
- 250 g
- 500 g
- 1,000 g
If you have a coffee grinder, we recommend whole coffee beans and grinding the coffee just before brewing. This also gives you the opportunity to adjust the grind size to the brewing method you are using.
If you do not have a coffee grinder yourself, you can select an appropriate grind for the product.
