Sage Steam Wand Cleaner – cleaning of steam wand and steam tip
Sage Steam Wand Cleaner is a cleaning powder developed for the steam wand on compatible Sage espresso machines.
When frothing milk, the steam wand and steam tip come into direct contact with milk. Milk residues can therefore gradually accumulate on and around the steam wand and in the openings of the steam tip.
Steam Wand Cleaner is used for a more thorough cleaning of the steam wand and steam tip and is particularly relevant if regular wiping and rinsing is not sufficient.

Using Steam Wand Cleaner on Sage Oracle
For the Sage Oracle, the following procedure is described for a thorough cleaning of the steam wand:
1. Add the cleaning powder
Place one sachet of Steam Wand Cleaner in an empty milk jug.
2. Add hot water
Add approximately:
240 ml of hot water
3. Remove the steam tip
Remove the steam tip according to the machine's instructions.
Place the steam tip and steam wand in the cleaning solution.
4. Let the parts soak
Let the steam wand and steam tip soak in the solution for approximately:
20 minutes
5. Clean and rinse the steam tip
Clean and rinse the steam tip thoroughly.
Then reattach it to the steam wand.
6. Activate the steam
Place the steam wand back into the jug and activate the steam for approximately:
10 seconds
7. Let the steam wand soak further
Let it stand for approximately:
5 minutes
8. Purge the steam wand
Activate the steam several times to flush out the steam wand.
Then rinse the steam wand thoroughly.
9. Finish the cleaning
Wipe the steam wand with a clean cloth.
Discard the cleaning solution and rinse the milk jug thoroughly.
This procedure applies to the Sage Oracle. For other Sage models, follow the cleaning instructions for the specific model.
