What is Loveramics Twisted Glass?

Twisted Glass is a glass series designed by Simon Stevens for Loveramics.

The glasses have a characteristic twisted exterior that refracts light differently depending on the angle, while the interior has a rounded shape.

Loveramics manufactures the series in four capacities: 70, 120, 180, and 360 ml.

All four models have a glass thickness of approximately 5 mm.

The relatively robust glass construction provides a different expression and feel in the hand compared to very thin coffee glasses.

Twisted Glass is also stackable, which is practical if you need to store multiple glasses in a limited space.

Which size Loveramics Twisted Glass should I choose?

The most important difference between the models is the capacity.

Therefore, choose based on the coffee drink you usually make.

Loveramics Twisted Espresso Glass – 70 ml

70 ml is the smallest glass in the series and is developed for espresso.

The compact size provides space for a standard single or small double espresso without a large amount of empty glass around the coffee.

The clear glass also makes it possible to see the espresso's color and crema.

70 ml is therefore the natural choice if you mainly drink espresso without large amounts of milk.

Loveramics Twisted Cortado Glass – 120 ml

120 ml provides more space and is developed with smaller milk-based coffee drinks in mind.

Loveramics highlights the size for, among others, cortado and piccolo.

This makes 120 ml interesting if you prefer a relatively compact coffee drink, where the espresso still takes up a significant portion compared to the milk.

The size can also be used for other smaller coffee drinks if it fits your own recipe.

Loveramics Twisted Cappuccino Glass – 180 ml

180 ml is developed as a Cappuccino Glass.

The capacity provides better space for the combination of espresso and textured milk than the smaller 70 and 120 ml glasses.

This makes the model relevant for smaller cappuccinos and similar milk drinks.

Loveramics Twisted Latte Glass – 360 ml

360 ml is the largest glass in the series.

Loveramics calls the model the Twisted Latte Glass, and the larger capacity provides plenty of space for coffee with a larger amount of milk.

It can therefore be used for, for example, caffe latte and other larger milk drinks.

Loveramics also highlights the 360 ml model for cold drinks.

This makes it relevant if you also want to use the glass for, for example, iced coffee or other cold coffee drinks.

70, 120, 180, or 360 ml?

A simple rule of thumb is:

70 ml – espresso
120 ml – cortado and piccolo
180 ml – cappuccino
360 ml – caffe latte and larger or cold coffee drinks

This does not mean that you are only allowed to use each glass for the drink stated in the product name.

The capacity is more important than the name.

If your cappuccino, for example, is usually larger than 180 ml, you should of course choose a glass that fits your own recipe.

Why is Twisted Glass 5 mm thick?

Loveramics specifies a glass thickness of approximately 5 mm for the Twisted Glass series.

The relatively robust construction is chosen with a focus on both durability and temperature retention.

This does not, however, mean that Twisted Glass functions as a double-walled thermal glass.

The glass has a thick wall, but hot drinks will still be able to make the outside of the glass hot.

If you pour very hot coffee into it, you should therefore treat the glass like any other coffee glass with hot liquid.

The characteristic Twisted design

The name Twisted Glass comes from the twisted structure on the outside of the glass.

The structure creates different reflections in the glass and makes the series easily recognizable.

The interior is also rounded.

Loveramics describes the continuous curve as a continuation of some of the principles from their porcelain cups.

For the customer, this primarily means that Twisted Glass is not just an ordinary cylindrical drinking glass.

Coffee glass or coffee cup?

The choice between glass and porcelain is largely a matter of preference.

A clear coffee glass makes it possible to see the drink's color and layers.

This is, for example, clear in:

• coffee with plant-based milk

• iced coffee

A porcelain cup provides a different visual and tactile expression.

Neither is necessarily better.

Loveramics Twisted Glass for espresso

For espresso, the 70 ml model is the obvious choice in the series.

The small capacity is suitable for a concentrated coffee drink without milk.

The clear glass makes it easy to follow the espresso during extraction and see the color of the finished coffee.

The glass does not, of course, improve the extraction itself.

The result in the cup still depends on, among other things, the coffee beans, the grind setting, the dosage, and the espresso machine.

Loveramics Twisted Glass for cortado

Cortado combines espresso with a relatively small amount of hot, textured milk.

Here, the 120 ml Twisted Cortado Glass is a natural choice.

The compact size fits well for a drink where the espresso should still clearly dominate the overall ratio.

If you prefer a larger cortado, you can of course adjust the glass size according to your own recipe.

Loveramics Twisted Glass for cappuccino

The 180 ml model provides space for espresso and textured milk and is developed specifically as a Cappuccino Glass.

If you make cappuccino at home, it is especially the texture of the milk and the ratio between coffee and milk that determine the result.

The glass acts as a serving vessel – it does not in itself create a better cappuccino.

The 360 ml model provides significantly more space than the rest of the series.

This makes it suitable for larger milk-based drinks.

If you make caffe latte at home and would like to be able to see the layers between coffee and milk, a clear glass is a natural choice.

Please note that 360 ml is the total capacity.

If you usually make smaller lattes, the glass does not, of course, have to be filled to the brim.

Can Twisted Glass be used for iced coffee?

Yes.

Loveramics describes the series as suitable for both coffee and cold drinks, and the 360 ml model in particular provides plenty of space for ice and liquid.

The clear glass also makes it possible to see the coffee, milk, and ice in the drink.

If you make iced coffee or cold brew, you should choose the size based on the amount of coffee, ice, and any milk.

Yes.

Loveramics describes the Twisted Glass series as stackable.

This is practical if you have multiple glasses in the same series and want to reduce the space they occupy in the cupboard or on the coffee station.

As with other glassware, they should of course be stacked and handled carefully to avoid impacts and damage.

Is Loveramics Twisted Glass dishwasher safe?

Loveramics lists Twisted Glass as dishwasher safe.

The manufacturer also lists the series as suitable for the microwave, and their current product data also shows compatibility with the freezer and oven for the series.

Always follow the manufacturer's current instructions and avoid sudden, extreme temperature changes, which can stress glass.

If a glass is chipped, cracked, or damaged, it should no longer be used for hot drinks.

Is Loveramics Twisted Glass made of recycled glass?

Loveramics describes Twisted Glass as made of glass and states that the material is recyclable.

This is not the same as saying the glass is necessarily made from recycled glass.

Therefore, we do not describe the series as made of recycled glass unless the manufacturer specifically documents it for the version in question.
