How to use Cafiza for backflushing

2. Attach the portafilter
Insert the portafilter into the brew group.

3. Start the brew cycle
Activate the brew cycle for 10 seconds and then stop for 10 seconds.

Repeat this 5 times.

4. Rinse the portafilter
Remove the portafilter, activate the brew cycle, and rinse the portafilter with water from the brew group.

5. Backflush with clean water
Reinsert the portafilter without Cafiza.

Run again:

10 seconds on – 10 seconds off

Repeat 5 times.

6. Brew an espresso
Replace the blind filter with the regular filter basket and brew one espresso to ensure that any detergent residues are gone.

The espresso must be discarded and not consumed.

Cleaning of portafilters and filter baskets

Cafiza can also be used for cleaning detachable parts.

Mix:

6 grams of Cafiza per 1 liter of hot water.

Place the parts to be cleaned in the solution for approximately 30 minutes.

When cleaning a portafilter, the handle should not be submerged in the solution.

After soaking, rinse the parts thoroughly with clean water.

Cafiza removes coffee oils – not limescale

Cafiza and descaling agents have two different functions.

Cafiza is used for:

• buildup from brewing

Descaling agent is used for:

• limescale
• mineral deposits from the water
