Why does the coffee grinder need to be cleaned?

How to use Urnex Grindz 35 g

1. Empty the coffee grinder
Remove all coffee beans from the grinder.

2. Set the grinder to medium
Set the grind size to a medium setting.

3. Add one bag of Grindz
Pour the entire 35-gram bag into the empty grinder.

4. Grind the Grindz through
Run the entire portion through the grinder and discard the material.

5. Grind coffee beans afterwards
Grind approximately 70 grams of coffee beans through the grinder and discard the coffee. Continue if necessary until there are no longer any visible residues of Grindz in the ground coffee.

If you normally use a very precise espresso setting, it may be an advantage to note the setting before you change the grinder to medium.

Why do you need to run coffee through afterwards?

After cleaning, there may be small residues of Grindz around the burrs and the coffee chute.

This is why coffee beans are run through the grinder after the treatment.

The coffee from this run is discarded. When there are no longer any visible residues of Grindz, the coffee grinder can be used normally again.

Grindz 3 × 35 g or Grindz 430 g?

Both variants have the same basic purpose but suit different needs.

Grindz does not require water
