The Bialetti Venus 2 cups is a compact stainless steel espresso maker/moka pot that brews a small, concentrated portion of coffee directly on the stovetop.

The Venus is made of 18/10 stainless steel and combines Bialetti's well-known brewing method with a more modern look than the classic aluminum Moka Express.
Important: The Bialetti Venus 2 cups is not suitable for induction. If you have an induction stove, you should choose a larger induction-compatible Venus model or another espresso maker for induction.

How much coffee does the Bialetti Venus 2 cups make?
The term 2 cups does not mean two regular coffee mugs.
Bialetti states the capacity as approximately 85 ml of finished coffee. A moka pot brews a concentrated coffee, and the serving size is therefore significantly smaller than with regular filter coffee.

Does the Bialetti Venus brew real espresso?
Although a moka pot is often called an espresso maker, it does not brew traditional espresso like an espresso machine.
A moka pot uses the pressure generated when water is heated in the bottom container to push the water through the ground coffee.
The result is an intense and concentrated coffee that is stronger than regular filter coffee, but different from classic espresso.

What grind size should I use?
For the Bialetti Venus, coffee should be ground for a moka pot – typically finer than filter coffee, but coarser than traditional espresso.
The coffee is filled loosely into the filter basket and should not be tamped.
If the coffee becomes very bitter or the brewing process is slow, you can try a slightly coarser grind. If the result is thin, you can try a finer one.
With a coffee grinder, you can adjust the grind to match the coffee you use.
Which coffee beans are suitable for the Bialetti Venus?
You can use light, medium, and dark roasted coffee in a moka pot.
Medium roasted coffee beans are a great all-round starting point if you want a balance between sweetness, body, and the coffee's original character.
If you prefer a more intense and classic flavor profile, you can try dark roasted coffee beans.
Can the Bialetti Venus 2 cups be used on induction?
No.
Even though larger Bialetti Venus models can be used on induction, the bottom of the 2-cup model is too small for standard induction use.
If you have induction, you should therefore choose a larger compatible Venus model or another model intended for induction.
How to use the Bialetti Venus
- Fill the bottom container with water to just below the safety valve.
- Place the filter basket in position.
- Fill the basket with coffee intended for a moka pot.
- Distribute the coffee evenly without tamping it.
- Screw the pot together.
- Place it on low to medium heat.
- Remove the pot from the heat when the coffee has risen and the brewing begins to bubble or sputter.
