Bialetti Venus 2 cups – copper espresso maker/moka pot
Produktbeskrivelse
Bialetti Venus 2 cups copper – compact stainless steel moka pot
The Bialetti Venus 2 cups combines the familiar Venus construction in 18/10 stainless steel with an elegant copper-colored surface.
The compact 2-cup model brews approximately 85 ml of concentrated moka pot coffee and is perfect for you if you typically brew a small portion for one person.
The copper-colored finish is created using PVD technology, where a thin layer of metal is bonded to the surface of the stainless steel. This gives the Venus a characteristic metallic copper look without changing the basic construction.
Important: The Venus 2 cups cannot be used on induction.

How much coffee does the Venus 2 cups make?
Bialetti specifies a capacity of approximately 85 ml of brewed coffee.
The term 2 cups does not refer to two regular coffee mugs. Bialetti uses small moka/espresso cups as a measure of size.
The 2-cup model is particularly suitable if you:
- typically brew for one person
- prefer a small, concentrated coffee
- do not want to brew a larger pot every time
- use the moka pot coffee as a base for a single milk-based drink
Can the Bialetti Venus 2 cups copper be used on induction?
No.
Although the Venus series is available in larger sizes that are compatible with induction, this does not apply to the 2-cup model.
The small base of approximately 8 cm is not intended for induction hobs.
If you have an induction hob, you should instead choose a larger, induction-compatible Venus model from our stovetop espresso pots.
Copper look with PVD surface
The copper-colored Venus is not just painted in the traditional way.
Bialetti uses a PVD treatment – Physical Vapour Deposition – where a very thin metallic layer is bonded to the surface of the stainless steel.
This provides the characteristic copper color and a durable surface.
However, the colored surface should be handled with care and should not be exposed to the strong detergents used in a dishwasher.
Does the Venus brew real espresso?
Although a moka pot is often called an espresso pot in Danish, the Bialetti Venus does not make traditional espresso like an espresso machine.
When the water is heated in the bottom container, pressure is created that forces the water through the ground coffee and up into the top container.
The result is an intense and concentrated coffee, but the brewing takes place at a lower pressure than classic espresso.
If you want to work with dosage, grind size, and brewing technique, you can read our guide to coffee with moka pots and espresso pots.
What grind size should be used?
A medium-fine grind is a good starting point.
The coffee should be:
- finer than regular filter coffee
- coarser than traditional espresso
- gritty rather than powdery fine
Fill the filter basket loosely and evenly with coffee.
The coffee should not be tamped.
If the brewing process is very slow or the result is bitter, try a slightly coarser grind.
If the coffee is thin, try a slightly finer grind.
A good coffee grinder makes it easier to adjust the grind precisely.
How to use the Bialetti Venus 2 cups
1. Fill water in the bottom container
Fill water to just below the safety valve.
2. Insert the filter basket
Place the filter basket in the bottom container.
3. Add coffee
Fill the basket loosely with medium-fine ground coffee.
The coffee should not be tamped.
4. Screw the moka pot together
Screw the top and bottom parts together securely.
Do not use the handle as leverage when tightening or loosening the pot.
5. Place the pot on the stove
Use low to medium heat.
On gas, the flame should be kept under the base and not climb up the sides.
6. Remove the pot from the heat
Once the coffee has risen to the top container, remove the Venus from the heat.
Avoid letting the moka pot boil or sputter for longer than necessary.
Which coffee beans are suitable for the Venus?
You can use different roast levels in a moka pot.
Medium-roasted coffee beans are a good starting point if you want a balance between sweetness, body, and the character of the coffee.
If you prefer a more intense and classic flavor profile, try dark-roasted coffee beans.
Lighter roasts can also be interesting if you prefer more fruitiness and acidity.
Cleaning the copper version
Let the moka pot cool down after brewing.
Unscrew the parts, remove the coffee grounds, and wash the parts in warm water.
The Venus copper must not be washed in the dishwasher.
The strong chemicals in dishwasher detergent can damage the copper-colored PVD surface.
Let the parts dry completely before reassembling the moka pot.
Also check regularly:
- the gasket
- the filter
- the safety valve
- the coffee outlet in the top container
Before first use
Before using the moka pot for the first time, all parts should be washed in warm water.
Bialetti also recommends that the first three brews are discarded before the pot is used for coffee that is to be drunk.
